About the garden

Latest News:

11/5/20: The cheese machine and knolton market garden are still open for business during these strange times. There is no veg yet, (except some Spicy salad bags for sale in the vending machine) But it’s all growing well and I should kick off the season with Potatoes, broad beans and peas available by the end of May 2020. After that there will hopefully be loads of tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, broccoli, apples etc I put everything I have available up there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and you choose what you want and pay by cash into the honesty box on the cheese machine shed.

About knolton market garden and the cheese machine:

I Started Knolton Market garden in 2010 on a half acre plot just outside Overton-on-Dee, near Wrexham, North wales. The idea was to grow tasty organic fruit and vegetables that I couldn't seem to source anywhere else locally. I used to sell cheese from the family business on local farmers markets, but now I sell it in the cheese vending machine instead.
The Market garden  is seasonal (June-November) because everything is grown on my little garden by me. I don't buy anything in because then it would not be quite so local or sustainable (which is the whole point).
I used to do veg boxes and deliver, but that’s a lot of work for one person, so I just put what I have on the hedge veg stall next to the vending machine and use an honesty box system.
